CODE "W" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CODE W = weather emergency!

Camp is now CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The children had to be evacuated from camp. Their parents came to pick all 115 of them up.

The reason we had to close camp was because it had continued to rain for 2 days now, there were streams all over camp, huge puddles and the stables were totally flooded!!!! They were up to your knee in water. The creek by the stables had risen by 12 feet and was expected to rise to 19 feet by the next day. Thats why we all had to leave! It wasnt an emergency at that point but we left camp before it became an emergency.

I found it really exciting!!! I loved it raining, I had my rain mack and my big black army boots (thanks to martin) so I was prepared for any thing.

It was very upsetting for everyone when Michele our Camp Director announced that camp was going to close. Two of my kids in our unit cried. It was awful.

I am now staying at Rizo's house (an American councilor) with Cert and Charge in Virginia, 4 hours from camp. We are staying here until Saturday when we have to go back and clear up camp ready for the next lot of kids to come.
